Attorneys – Mark Ondrejech, Kevin Butler, and Jay Carson discuss 2015 Lakewood election issues at The Side Quest.

A group of about 30 people met at The Side Quest on Tuesday to enjoy beverages, food from the Wok-n-Roll Food Truck, and learn about the various issues a Lakewood voter will see on the ballot on November 3rd.

The presentation, led by Heidi Finniff and three attorneys – Jay Carson, Kevin Butler, and Mark Ondrejech focused on the following issues:

  • Issue 1 – Redistricting
  • Issue 2 – Direct Democracy
  • Issue 3 – Marijuana
  • Issue 8 – Cuyahoga County Arts & Culture
  • Issue 9 – Cuyahoga County increase of committee members and recalibration
  • Lakewood Issue 64 – Proposed Lakewood Charter Amendment

Most of the people in attendance were younger so not surprisingly, there was a great deal of interest in Issue 3 and how Issue 2 fits into the marijuana legalization equation. There was also a lot of interest in Lakewood Issue 64 and the impact it could have on the city of Lakewood.

Below are the slides and the notes with links from the lecture for viewing and downloading – take a look at these documents before you head to the polls on Tuesday. If you’re not sure where your polling location is, visit http://boe.cuyahogacounty.us/ to find out.
