The Rolling Stones Play ‘Hang On Sloopy’ at Ohio Stadium
The Rolling Stones played Ohio Stadium last and did not disappoint Ohio fans and Ohio State students by performing a version of The McCoys “Hang On Sloopy.”
“Hang On Sloopy” became Ohio’s official rock song in 1985 and is a staple not only at The Horseshoe for Ohio State football games but also at Indians and Cavs games here in Cleveland.
According to Rolling Stone magazine, the song used to be be part of the regular European tour playlist but they haven’t played the song live since 1966.
Rain that day made some nervous and it rained on the sound check but the show went on – Kid Rock was the opening act.
It's gonna rain on our soundcheck in Columbus! #StonesColumbus pic.twitter.com/4MZigFsgUV

#StonesColumbus I'm thinking Kid Rock and Nick Swisher would get along. pic.twitter.com/HUuB3oN2ZL
